Table Discussions – 30 minutes (10 each topic)
- Discuss a ‘win’ identified as a result of connecting with staff, something that you would not have likely learned without the connection
- What impact did this have on the employee? The organization? On you?
- Identify any barriers to your ability to connect with staff
- How can you overcome these barriers?
- How does this ‘win’ position you as a leader with your team?
- Share an example of how you have managed up a staff member, a leader or your organization
- What was the reaction/response of the person to whom you were having the conversation with?
- What type of impression does managing up leave with your employees and customers?
- Discuss a HML conversation you conducted over the last 90 days.
- How did the employee respond? Did you effectively re-recruit the high and middle performer?
- If a low performer, did you clarify expectations and did the individual change behaviors or move on?
